The Alumni of Color (AOC) Network brings together alumni of color and their allies to create a community of inclusion and advance racial justice at Brandeis and beyond. If you are interested in joining our collective effort as Brandeisians to move toward a more equitable and just society, we invite you to get involved:

  • Attend engaging events in-person and online
  • Offer career advice and mentorship to students of color
  • Participate in customized programs and initiatives
  • Stay up-to-date on news that impacts our community and connect with like-minded alumni through our Facebook group

Our Mission

The Alumni of Color (AOC) Network Shared Interest Group is a self-selecting, opt-in community intended to serve as an affinity space for individuals from historically marginalized racial and ethnic groups, as well as their allies. Given legacies of exclusion through policies and practices based on race and ethnicity in our society, the AOC Network aims to address the needs of, and establish community among, Brandeis’ graduates of color and their alumni allies. By providing opportunities for alumni connections and mentorship to current students, the AOC Network supports the goals of the University in our collective efforts to move towards a more equitable and just society.

I volunteer because as an alumnus who learned so much from my Brandeis experience, I am honored to serve on the Alumni Committee, particularly as Chair of the Alumni of Color Network. My commitment stems from the profound impact Brandeis has had on my intellectual and personal development, instilling in me a passion for intellectual curiosity and analytical thinking. The university's historic commitment to social justice resonates deeply with me, and through my volunteer work, I aim to ensure that diverse voices and perspectives are meaningfully represented and supported. We strive to develop programs and initiatives that uplift students, alumni, and faculty of color. We seek to continue Brandeis's legacy of advancing freedom, equality, and justice for all people.
