Alumni enjoy significant discount on online graduate degrees and certificates
April 6, 2026
Brandeis Online offers flexible, career-relevant, and easy-to-apply-to programs
As an immunology researcher at Massachusetts General Hospital, Xuan Guo ’23 studies T-cell immunity, antigen presentation, and host responses to viral infections. However, she found herself seeking additional training in analyzing and interpreting large-scale biological data. So, Guo was pleased to learn that alumni enjoy a 15 percent discount on Brandeis Online graduate degrees and certificates, and enrolled in the Master of Science in Bioinformatics program.
Guo is impressed by the quality of the instruction and the responsiveness of the professors. “I find lessons centered around research questions especially helpful,” they explain.
They also appreciate the flexible nature of the program. “I work full-time, so my weekdays are quite busy,” Guo says. “I love the flexibility to learn and do coursework at anytime, anywhere.”
Guo is one of many alumni taking advantage of this benefit.
Students can choose from more than 30 programs, including master’s degrees and certificates, across a variety of disciplines in demand by today’s employers — from data science and software engineering to Jewish professional leadership and industrial psychology to digital marketing and project management.
In addition, alumni receive 15 percent off microcredential programs – short, self-paced learning experiences that build specific skills through 10 to 15 hours of interactive coursework.
Instructors are professionals with extensive experience in their respective industries, so they bring real-world knowledge into the classroom. For example, instructors in the Bioinformatics program hold leadership roles at major organizations, such as Moderna, Google, and DermTech.
Courses are treated like labs, with the goal of giving students skills they can apply after graduation, not just theoretical knowledge.
The flexibility begins with the application process. To apply, alumni only need a transcript, a resume, a 500-word statement of goals, and one letter of recommendation. No graduate admissions exam is required.
Programs may be completed at your pace and on your schedule. Courses are offered in eight-week terms, and terms begin five times per year. Programs may be completed part- or full-time. Courses still follow weekly deadlines to maintain structure and keep students on track.
Students also receive extensive support. Not only are they assigned an academic advisor who can be reached via email or Zoom, but they also have direct access to instructors through email and virtual office hours.
