Sharon Whittaker ’81

Alumni of Color Network, Chair

Senior Director of Human Resources, Mass General Brigham

Roslindale, Massachusetts

Sharon’s desire to attend Brandeis grew out of the two summers she spent as a high school student in the Brandeis Upward Bound program. There she was exposed to many Brandeis students and professors who worked or volunteered with the program. Their commitment and investment in her as a student was hugely impactful and led her to Joseph Warren, MSW’72, PhD’83, who encouraged her to apply and was one of the most influential people in her life. Sharon majored in African American History, was a member of the gospel choir, and volunteered with the Waltham Group — where she tutored students in Waltham Public Schools. She is a Boston native and lives in Roslindale with her family.
