Alumni holiday receptions scheduled around the United States

From Boston to Los Angeles, Brandeis alumni clubs in five regions of the United States are hosting holiday receptions in November and December. This is the first year for events in Southern California and Northern California.

“Our holiday receptions are a wonderful opportunity for alumni to gather for a fun afternoon or evening in their community and rekindle their connection with each other and Brandeis,” says Patsy Fisher, vice president of alumni relations. “I’m pleased to see that this tradition is growing.”

All of the events will feature gourmet food and drinks and a chance to see old friends and make new ones. The receptions for alumni in Southern California, Northern California, Washington D.C. and the New York City region will be held at acclaimed restaurants or special event spaces.

In Boston, the holiday reception will be held at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum. It will include two featured speakers: Karen Adler Abramson ’85, director of archives at the library, and Eileen McNamara, Pulitzer Prize-winning professor of the practice of journalism at Brandeis and author of a forthcoming book about Eunice Kennedy Shriver. This is a particularly special year to hold an event at the venue since it is the 100th anniversary of JFK’s birth. Attendees can view the museum’s special exhibit to honor this occasion, JFK 100: Milestones and Mementos.
