Letter from the President
Dear Brandeis Alumni and Friends,
I am delighted to share the work of One Brandeis: A Strategic Plan for Alumni Engagement with you. This plan is the result of the efforts of the Alumni Association Board of Directors, the Alumni Relations department, and many campus partners. The goals and actions in this plan are important to the work we can do together to build a stronger future for Brandeis.
Brandeis was founded by the American Jewish community in response to antisemitic and exclusionary admissions practices. It was a bold undertaking that had an impact on American higher education and sent a resounding message around the world. In just 71 years, Brandeis has grown into a highly regarded Research 1 university. Our alumni, through their commitment and support, have played an important role in Brandeis’ success.
Today, we are forging a new path for Brandeis, and our efforts will be fueled by the same energy, creativity, and pioneering spirit that were present at the university’s founding and reside in its alumni today. We will be guided by the Framework for the Future, our strategic vision to build a stronger Brandeis.
To succeed at realizing the goals of the Framework, we must be as committed today as our founders were seven decades ago. The Strategic Plan for Alumni Engagement aligns closely with the Framework for the Future and articulates a strong vision and mission for the Alumni Association that reflect our shared core values. I hope you will have the chance to read the plan closely and then share your thoughts with me at president@brandeis.edu.
