Reunion 2009
President Reinharz presented a 2009 Alumni Achievement Award to Robert F.X. Sillerman '69. Sillerman, who attended the Gala with his wife, Laura, and daughter, Mackinley Jo, made a $10 million gift to Brandeis in 2007 established the Sillerman center for the Advancement of Philanthropy at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management. The Center is designed to help empower a growing generation of philanthropists to become social entrepreneurs.
Martin Peretz '59, one of America's leading liberal voices and the longtime editor-in-chief of The New Republic, also received an Alumni Achievement Award this year. His was presented at his 50th reunion, held in May in conjunction with Commencement.
