Justice Brandeis is back home

Thanks to the support of Brandeis alumni, Justice Louis D. Brandeis is back home.

The University secured more than 2,014 online gifts by the start of 2014 during the Louis Challenge fundraising campaign, allowing our namesake to return to his statue at the center of campus.

The Challenge highlighted the ways that alumni support makes a difference in the lives of Brandeis students -- whether they are in the classroom, laboratory or library, or on the athletic field or stage.

As part of the Louis Challenge, Justice Brandeis made intermediate stops at the Shapiro Admissions Center, Athletics Complex, Shapiro Science Center, Usen Castle, Mandel Academic Quad and Rose Art Museum. Gifts made from the start of the fiscal year on July 1, 2013, through Dec. 31, 2013, counted toward the Challenge goal.

“We are thrilled that our alumni care so deeply about supporting today’s Brandeis students,” says Nancy Winship, P ’10, P ’13, senior vice president of institutional advancement. “Every gift ensures that our students can enjoy the full breadth of the Brandeis educational experience.”
