    More than 50 Brandeisians and friends welcomed President Ron Liebowitz and his wife, Jessica, to London at the Royal Automobile Club.... Every decade of Brandeis was represented among the students studying abroad and friends. Anant Jani '03, MS'03, co-president of the Alumni Club of Great Britain, welcomed the attendees. Founding club president Joan Givner Bovarnick, PhD'69, introduced President Liebowitz.

    Jonathan D. Sarna '75, MA'75, spoke about future trends in American Jewish life.... More than 40 alumni, parents, students and friends attended the Faculty in the Field event with Sarna, University Professor and the Joseph H. and Belle R. Braun Professor of American Jewish History. In his discussion, he drew on the impact of the 2016 election and other economic, demographic and religious changes. Stephen Hazan Arnoff '94 hosted the event at the Fuchsberg Jerusalem Center for Conservative Judaism.

    The Alumni Club of Great Britain, in partnership with Shomrei Hadath Synagogue, welcomed Professor Jonathan D. Sarna '75, MA'75, to London for a Faculty in the Field event.... Professor Sarna, University Professor and the Joseph H. and Belle R. Braun Professor of American Jewish History, spoke about future trends in American Jewish life to a group of more than 35 attendees. Club co-president Josh Pines '96 chaired the event.

  • Alumni Enjoy 29th annual Thanksgiving Day Tea

    Professors Eileen McNamara and Maura Jane Farrelly led alumni, students and friends in a discussion about the importance of serious journalism.... Drawing on examples from the U.S. presidential election and Brexit, they asked attendees to consider characteristics of both good and poor journalism and their impacts. The event was held at the Soho Hotel in London. Club co-presidents Maayan Amitai '07; Anant Jani '03, MS'03; and Joshua Pines '96 served as event chairs.
