Join members of the Brandeis admissions staff for a discussion of the admission selection process. Learn what highly selective colleges consider as they make their admission decisions. Then take a tour of the Brandeis University campus and its state-of-the-art facilities. |
| 9:30-10:45 am | Finding a World in a Crossroads: A Social Historian Returns to Her 1950s Childhood in Small-Town Delaware
Historian and Truman Professor of American Civilization Jacqueline Jones recently published a memoir about her childhood in a village of 400 people in Delaware. Creek Walking, Growing Up in Delaware in the 1950s explores the author's family history, as well as issues related to racial, religious and social divisions within the town. Jones will discuss some of the unanticipated consequences of researching and writing about her own childhood. |

Teenage rites of passage have always played a significant role in motion pictures. With the awareness of the AIDS epidemic in the heterosexual population, sex and nudity began to be downplayed. By doing so, has Hollywood helped or hindered the dissemination of information on high school relationships? This questions and others will be addressed as part of this presentation by Thomas Doherty, associate professor of American studies (on the Sam Spiegel Fund) and chair of the Film Studies Program, in his revised edition of his book Teenagers and Teenpics: The Juvenilization of American Movies in the 1950s, due out this spring from Temple University Press. |

Tour the Volen National Center for Complex Systems, the Gosman Sports and Convocation center, and the Robert D. Farber University Archives. Gerald Bernstein, associate professor of fine arts, will lead an architectural walking tour of the campus. |
| 4:00-5:30 pm | Alumni Artists and Authors Receptions
Celebrate the artistic and literary accomplishments of the members of the Classes of 1957, 1962, 1967, 1972, 1977, 1982, 1987, 1992, and 1997. |
| 7:30 pm-Midnight | Cocktails and Dinner -- "Under the Stars"
The party continues on Saturday night with cocktails and dinner. The event will include a buffet under the stars on campus, music, and dancing. |

Kosher meals available in Sherman Dining Hall throughout the weekend.
Class-specific hospitality rooms will be assigned for the entire weekend.
