Alumni Club of Long Island

Mark S. Cohen '78 assumed the role of the president of the Alumni Club of Long Island as of June 1, 2003. He is an attorney and serves as Special Counsel to Hahn & Hessen, LLP. Mark lives in West Hempstead, New York with his wife Roberta?79 and their two daughters and son.

Mark serves on the board of directors of the Young Israel of West Hempstead, chairs the community-wide Israel Independence Day committee and serves on a number of fundraising and event-planning committees. Since the outbreak of terrorism in the region in late 2000, Mark has been organizing and leading semi-annual solidarity missions to the State of Israel. Mark is the current national secretary of Religious Zionists of America and serves on the organization?s finance committee. Recently, Mark founded the Men?s Religious Zionist Organization of Nassau County and he presently serves as its co-president. He is a long-standing member of both the American Bar Association and the Association of Commercial Finance Attorneys.

Mark and his wife have both been extremely involved alumni. Mark is a volunteer for the Alumni Admissions Council, conducting interviews and attending high school college nights on behalf of the Admissions office. In addition, both he and his wife have served on their reunion planning committees.
